Overview

The Clinician reports to the Clinical Supervisor and is charged with providing intensive in-home services to children and families. The Clinician Is expected to act professionally and in a manner that is consistent with Wayside’s & Venture’s core values. This is a salaried, exempt position.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advocacy and care coordination with people providing treatment as necessary and as requested by families.
  • Attend meetings with people providing treatment, including but limited to meetings involving school/IEP, Department of Children and Families, Care Planning Team with Community Service Agency and other service providers.
  • Provide concrete care and coordination service, including but not limited to:
    • Transporting to appointments and meetings;
    • Accessing concrete resources such as furniture, food, and memberships in community organizations;
    • Making referrals to other services.
  • Provide clinical and direct services, including but not limited to individual, couple, and family psychotherapy, behavior management and crisis intervention.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and create treatment plans/Individualized Action Plans.
  • Maintain clinical documentation of all services in compliance with medical necessity.
  • Show flexibility to work independently or with team member to provide services.
  • Provide emergency coverage to program by carrying on-call phone, as assigned.

 

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in weekly supervision with supervisor, and attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in, in-service trainings as offered at Wayside and Venture
  • Participate in ongoing educational opportunities as required by professional licensing bodies.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
  • Manage caseload to meet productivity requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with all personnel.
  • Handle projects with a positive manner.
  • Provide recommendations to regarding ways to improve overall Quality Assurance / Clinical Services operations system.
  • Support the goals and objectives of the Agency.
  • Accept responsibility and accountability as part of the position.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Must be effective in interfacing with professionals in community and contracting agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function independently with minimum direct supervision.

 

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position: Knowledge of child welfare, adolescent development, behavior management, parenting issues, individual/family psychotherapy, DSM-V and best practices in mental health.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or other related field, such as, Counseling, Psychology or Education required.
  • Experience providing services to children, adolescents and families.
  • Must be 21+ years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site and be available by telephone for daily contact.
