    Responsibilities

    • Position Summary:

      Drivers/Monitors are directly responsible for the daily transportation and monitoring of developmentally disabled /Physically disabled individuals from point of residence to day program site in a safe and efficient manner. In this capacity, all Developmental Disability Services (DDS) general lawns and regulations will be adhered to.

       

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Safely transport individuals to and from home and day site.
      • Assist individuals who require assistance in entering and leaving the vehicle.
      • Ensure all individuals will be seated while vehicle is in motion, and assist in securing seat belts, if needed.
      • Work cooperatively with all drivers, monitors, individuals, programs and families.
      • Maintain internal and external cleanliness of vehicle.
      • Conduct vehicle inspection before use, utilizing the Venture check list and report all needed repairs and maintenance immediately to the Transportation Coordinator.
      • Attend training and all staff meetings.
      • Ensure all safety precautions regarding the operation of motor vehicles and transportation of individuals.
      • Arrive at individual’s residence within 5 minutes before or after scheduled time frames.
      • Notify Transportation Director immediately if any problems exist that impedes safe, efficient transportation.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • High School or GED Diploma.
    • 21+ with a valid driver license with a minimum of three years driving experience.
    • Maintain First Aid, CPR, AED & Safety Care certification – We’ll train.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift.
    • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
